13 Things you would experience while getting Admission in a College

While college life is the best phase of one’s youth and it passes like a breeze but getting through the burning labyrinth of complex procedures can be quite a back breaker, there can be no metaphorical equivalent of the atrocities that one has to go through while completing the procedure of getting admitted into a college. I am not trying to scare the college aspirants but yes, be petrified, not scared.

1. It starts with a mile long queue leading to a multi-counter window with a hunger for happiness.

2. Then it might happen that till your turn is up they might shut the window on your face. Ladies and gentlemen, meet your new enemy in grown up life – Lunch Time.

3. You’ll now realize the importance of golawallahs and lemon soda makers and parantha on wheels.

4. You’ll enter the canteen in this course and whine about almost everything on the menu. Don’t worry you’ll soon find yourself spending a major part of your day here.

5. Post lunch, you’ll meet the burping office runt you’ll hate for the rest of your college life.

6. He’ll most probably tell you to run to the “Xerox Center” to get extra copies of your documents.

7. You’ll enter probably the most important place in the college in terms of academics, more important than a library, the “Xerox Center”, embrace it, because during the time period of examinations it turns into a shrine.

8. Then you’ll have to wait for countless hours as your documents get verified.

9. 3 out of 4 people on the admission council would have a problem with your “records”.

10. You’ll have to carry 500 passport size photographs and would have to sign scores of documents.

11. When you are all juiced out and given hope on life you’ll be awarded with an admission slip.

12. Your parents shall not be happy while they pay your fee (unless it’s a government college, where they take you to an expensive restaurant after the day is over.)

13. But you’ll realize the meaning of “sweets are the fruits of adversity” in the end where you go home with a thousand dreams and a wide smile on your face.

18 Funny Things That Will Make You Say: It Happens Only In India

India is a country of contrasts, contradictions and chaos. It’s often said about India that where something is true, the opposite will also be true. Talking of Indians, they attract several stereotypes – which often define them just right.
But if you’re looking for an excuse to laugh in India, you don’t need to go that deep. All you need to do is keep looking around, and something funny will leave you laughing out loud. For example these pictures that reflect the best and the funny side of India -

1. Here people have a surprisingly new theory towards Prevention of Theft.

2. Despite the fact that some people are possessed with superhuman powers.

3. Here people have their own defined fun-games.

4. Which sometimes don’t end up very sweet.

5. Another near-death experience on Indian roads… almost!

6. Here compromising has no limits.

7. Most common experience when you trade something, against money.

8. Why people prefer window seats while travelling.

9. This reincarnated Lara Craft.

10. The Indian mantra of Jugaad.

11. Here racism has no place to stay.

12. These over dramatic mothers.

13. Here media has its own defined rules for the Freedom of Speech.

14. Something every Indian is good at – Head Boggle!

15. The idea of having tight security in ATMs.

16. Probably the last thing you’d want to see in your life.

17. That’s how we roll.

18. Because we don’t believe in being humble but rather say/do what’s in our mind and be practical.

Powerful Message For Smokers

The film starts with a woman singing a lori (lullaby) to her child while her husband seems distressed at something. The intelligent twist in the tale comes when we realize that there’s no child, just a toy she was playing with. The husband is sterile (incapable of bearing children) due to his smoking habit.
It leaves a strong reverberation of the child’s cry in our minds: a powerful reminder of the grim consequences of smoking & how it affects the lives of not only our own but our loved ones too.
Research estimates that one in two smokers will die from a disease caused by their smoking habit.
Quit now.

Speak Up, be the Change.

After the thought provoking short film Mute, Ram Subramanian is back with a sequel. In Mute, he didn’t have a voice as he didn’t exercise his voting rights. In this sequel, aptly titled Unmute, he regains his voice and it’s the collective voice of a nation that laid their trust on a man as their leader.
The video serves as a powerful message from the people to the newly elected Prime Minister and our leaders: LISTEN UP, We’re speaking.
It’s time our leaders heard from us.
